Editorial Policy

Draft for review: this page contains placeholder text prepared for the website build. It must be reviewed and approved by Nairobi Post and its legal advisers before launch.

This policy explains the standards Nairobi Post applies to everything we publish.

Accuracy and verification

We verify information before publication, rely on credible and identifiable sources wherever possible, and clearly attribute claims. Where facts are disputed or unconfirmed, we say so.

Independence

Our editorial decisions are made by our editors, free from commercial, political or personal influence. Journalists declare any conflict of interest.

Fairness and right of reply

We seek to represent relevant perspectives, provide context and give people and organisations a fair opportunity to respond to significant allegations before publication.

News, analysis and opinion

We clearly distinguish between news reporting, analysis and opinion. Editorials represent the view of Nairobi Post; opinion pieces represent the views of their authors.

Sponsored content

Advertising and sponsored material are always labelled and never presented as independent journalism.

Corrections and accountability

We correct errors promptly and transparently. See our Corrections page or write to editorial@nairobipost.co.ke.
