Man Who Threatened To Leak Nude Photos Of Kakamega Governer Fernandes Barasa Arraigned
In a separate incident, a man who attempted to extort Kakamega Governor Fernandes Odinga Barasa, threatening to expose nude images, faced charges at a Kibera Law Court on Tuesday, March 20, 2024.
William Simiyu Matere, also known as Elijah, allegedly demanded Ksh240 million from Barasa to conceal photos supposedly taken during the governor’s visit to a traditional healer ahead of the 2022 elections.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Ann Mwangi, Simiyu denied accusations of conspiracy and menacing demands from the Governor.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) alleged that Simiyu committed these offenses between December 2023 and March 18, 2024.
