Victoria Rubadiri, the renowned news anchor at Citizen TV, is bidding farewell to Royal Media Services (RMS) after a six-year tenure at the television station.
In a surprising move, sources revealed that upon her departure from Citizen TV, Rubadiri will be making a significant leap to join CNN as Africa’s correspondent, marking a new chapter in her illustrious career.
Kenyans.co.ke, reports that Rubadiri has been serving her notice and is scheduled to host her final show over the upcoming weekend.
To commemorate her impactful stint at the station, RMS staff gathered to cut a cake in her honor earlier this week.

During her time at Citizen TV, Rubadiri hosted several influential shows, including “Citizen Weekend” on Saturdays, where she shed light on various societal issues, particularly those concerning social norms and culture.

Throughout her career, Rubadiri has been recognized for her ability to craft compelling narratives.
In 2020, she was honored with the BBC World News Komla Dumor Award, affording her the opportunity to undergo training with the BBC Academy and join the News team for three months.
Among her notable works is “Wombs of Sorrow,” a poignant feature highlighting the experiences of women battling cervical cancer, showcasing Rubadiri’s commitment to shedding light on critical societal issues.
Prior to her tenure at Citizen TV, Rubadiri rose through the ranks at Nation Media Group (NMG), where she co-hosted the NTV Weekend Edition alongside CNN’s Larry Madowo.
