Unresolved salaries, which have been an issue for months for the Mombasa Road-based media house Standard Media Group, could see operations at all its radio stations grind to a halt on July 3.
Staff from Radio Maisha, Spice FM, Berur FM, and Vybez Radio have threatened to withdraw their services if outstanding salaries are not cleared.

In a letter to the company’s management, the radio department highlighted inconsistent salary payments and demanded that June salaries be paid by July 2, with 30 percent of arrears paid monthly until all outstanding payments from June 2023 to August 2023 and February 2024 to June 2024 are settled.

The radio team also suggested that a portion of the monthly revenue be allocated specifically to salary payments to ensure consistency.
