Shock and heartbreak have gripped fans and followers after Ricardo Godoi, a popular Brazilian influencer, died moments before getting a massive back tattoo.
The 45-year-old tragically went into cardiac arrest at Dia Revitalite Hospital in Itapema, Santa Catarina, after being administered general anaesthesia for the procedure.
“What happened was that, at the beginning of the sedation and intubation, he went into cardiac arrest. That occurred before they even started tattooing him,” revealed the tattoo studio owner.
Despite immediate intervention from a cardiologist, efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Ricardo had taken all precautions, including undergoing blood tests and signing a consent form acknowledging the risks of the procedure.
A licensed anaesthesiologist with extensive experience was also hired for the operation, but the tragic outcome shocked everyone involved.

In a heartfelt statement, Ricardo’s Instagram account confirmed the devastating news, saying, “It is with great regret that we inform you about the death of Ricardo Godoi yesterday at midday.”
The post also expressed solidarity with his family and friends during this unbearable loss.
