Moses Marite, the former manager of popular Mugithi artist Samidoh, has been arrested in Sagana over allegations of conning local clubs by claiming the star would perform.
Marite’s troubles began when the Pcash Lounge in Sagana reported that they had paid a Ksh 100,000 security deposit for a Samidoh performance, only to discover that the artist had never received the funds.
According to Linus Marangi, the club’s marketer, Marite accepted multiple advance payments without notifying Samidoh, leading to a growing rift between the two.

Sources close to Samidoh revealed that this incident was not isolated; Marite allegedly mishandled deposits from several other venues, prompting the artist to sever ties with him just last month.
Following his arrest, Marite was arraigned at Baricho Magistrate’s Court on October 22, where he faced charges of fraud.

Friends have since launched a WhatsApp group to raise the Ksh 100,000 bail needed for his release, framing the situation as a “financial dispute” stemming from his management work.
Despite their longstanding friendship dating back to their school days in Laikipia County, Samidoh publicly distanced himself from Marite on September 24, declaring he was no longer authorized to conduct business on his behalf.
