Former Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi’s Director of Press Service, Salim Swaleh has opened up about the immense emotional toll that recent months have taken on him.
Once a prominent figure in the media industry, Swaleh is now grappling with a personal crisis so severe that he has contemplated taking his own life.
Speaking through an emotional video, Swaleh shared that the barrage of negative publicity after being profiled as a thief has left him reeling.

“The last month has been so difficult for me. I’ve been unable to even walk out because of the kind of publicity I received,” he lamented.
“Everything people said about me just threw me into some unchartered territory. A lot of bad things have been running in my mind, sometimes I feel like taking my own life.”
Swaleh’s troubles began when he was implicated in a Sh5.8 million fraud case.
Along with four others, he is accused of conspiring to defraud an engineering consultancy company by falsely promising to secure a tender for the construction of two stadia in Kenya.

The alleged crime occurred in 2014, and the charges were brought to light during his tenure at the Prime Cabinet Secretary’s office in Nairobi.
The once-confident news anchor is now a man visibly burdened by shame and regret.
In his tearful message, Swaleh reached out directly to Mudavadi, pleading for forgiveness and acknowledging the damage he had done.

“Your Excellency, you have been my father figure… I broke the trust, and I’m so sorry about it. I’m truly remorseful,” he said.
Beyond the emotional torment, Swaleh’s financial situation has also unraveled.
His salary was abruptly halted, and with bills piling up and loans due, he admitted that he is struggling to stay afloat.
“It’s end month, bills are piling up, salary stopped abruptly, I have loans,” he explained, adding that the negative publicity has made it nearly impossible for him to find another job.
