Yesterday, members of his constituency booed him and denied him a chance to speak during an event, forcing him to cut his speech short and leave.
The MP had just begun explaining why he voted yes to the bill when murmurs started spreading, eventually leading to fervent booing and demands for him to leave the event.

Even women in the crowd expressed their anger, shouting that he had ignored their pleas to vote against the bill.
Clement tried to justify his decision by explaining that he believed the bill would bring positive changes for Kenya, but his constituents wouldn’t let him finish.
