“The road from Ndenderu to Gacharage to Ruaka is a death trap,” said Tony, an advocacy journalist who has long voiced concerns about the area.
“Last week, two women were knocked down in Ruaka. The week before, four people died along the same road.
Tonight, two more lives are lost—a couple, dead.”This stretch of road has been a recurring point of contention for locals, with calls for pedestrian crossings and improved road safety measures often falling on deaf ears.
The tragic deaths of the couple on Monday have reignited these demands, as residents continue to plead for action to prevent further loss of life.
