- The vehicle eventually lost control and rolled, allowing the male suspect to escape, while the injured female passenger later died in the hospital
Police in Gem Wagai, Siaya County, have recovered a firearm belonging to the late Willis Ayieko, Human Resource Manager at Wells Fargo, who was murdered earlier this month.
Acting on a tip-off, police were alerted to a Toyota Axio, registration number KDN 948B, in Wagai Trading Centre, where a male and a female suspect were reportedly seen with a firearm.
When officers from Wagai Police Station flagged down the vehicle, the male driver defied orders and opened fire on the police, leading to a high-speed chase.
The pursuit ended at Adder Farm in Kagilo area when the vehicle lost control and rolled.

The male suspect escaped, but the female passenger, who was found injured and unconscious, was taken to Yala hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a pistol loaded with 11 rounds of ammunition, identified as the firearm taken from Mr. Ayieko on the night he was killed.

Following this lead, detectives tracked down the male suspect’s rented house in Sagam Trading Centre, where they recovered military attire, two TV sets, an HP laptop, and a Rolex watch.
