Nandi Man Storms Betika Office After Claiming to Lose KSh 1.5 Million From Account
The incident, which unfolded on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, has sparked a heated debate surrounding the transparency and accountability of online betting platforms.
According to Kiptoo, the ordeal began on March 13th when he placed a bet on Betika Aviator and emerged victorious, securing over KSh 1.5 million in winnings.
The funds were swiftly deposited into his account by Betika at 1:00 am on March 14th, marking what he believed to be the start of a promising streak of luck.
However, Kiptoo’s optimism was short-lived. Merely ten minutes after the initial deposit, his attempts to place another bet were thwarted as he was informed he would need to wait 24 hours before doing so.
Undeterred, he opted to withdraw KSh 300,000, the maximum allowable amount from his Betika account at that time.
To his initial relief, a check of his account balance at 7:29 PM on March 14th revealed that his winnings remained intact.
Yet, when he revisited his account after the mandatory 24-hour waiting period, shock and disbelief gripped him as he discovered his account emptied of its substantial balance.
In a desperate bid for answers, Kiptoo reached out to Betika’s customer care, only to be met with a troubling explanation.
He was informed that the funds were lost due to auto bets placed on his behalf, purportedly resulting in losses exceeding KSh 1.2 million.
