Mumias East MP, Peter Salasya, has opened up about a terrifying near-death experience during the final stretch of his election campaign that deepened his faith and reshaped his spiritual outlook.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, the vibrant legislator recounted surviving a harrowing crash at 3 am, just two months before the last general elections.
In a heartfelt post, Salasya revealed how his campaign vehicle collided with a tree deep within an unnamed forest.

He described the crash as a life-changing moment, emphasizing how the uncertainty of that night led him to cry out for divine intervention.
“God is faithful indeed,” Salasya wrote.
“Campaigns are a challenging time for politicians. We faced a terrifying accident at 3 am, and at that moment, when hope was fading, I called upon Jesus loudly. Miraculously, something changed when the vehicle hit a large tree.”
The Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) lawmaker disclosed that the accident, though horrific, left an indelible mark on his faith.
