The National Police Service (NPS) has reiterated its commitment to maintaining public safety and national security in accordance with Article 37 of the Constitution.
In light of the planned public demonstrations on July 23, 2024, the NPS has issued a firm reminder to the public regarding the legal boundaries governing access to protected areas.
The Protected Areas Act Cap 204, under the Laws of Kenya, prohibits unauthorized entry into designated protected areas.

Specifically, the Protected Areas Order, clarified under Legal Notice No. 9 of 2011, includes key locations such as the LPG Plant, Bitumen Plant, and Petroleum depots at the Embakasi Aviation Depot (JKIA).

Furthermore, the Kenya Civil Aviation Act No. 21 of 2013, Section 58, states that trespassing on any land forming part of a Government aerodrome or a licensed aerodrome is an offense punishable by law.
The National Police Service urges all individuals participating in the demonstrations to respect these legal provisions and to avoid any attempts to enter or interfere with protected areas.
