Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has criticized a gas station attendant after the latter mistakenly fueled his Nissan Patrol with diesel instead of petrol.
In a video posted by Sonko, the attendant, dressed in a red and black uniform, is seen attempting to explain the error to Sonko as he stepped out of his vehicle to confront him.

Sonko then proceeded to question the attendant, asking why such a serious mistake occurred and whether he had failed to notice the “diesel” label on the car.
The attendant humbly admitted to being confused when another car in need of refueling queued up behind Sonko’s, leading to the mix-up.

Sonko, dressed in a white kanzu and apparently engaged in Ramadan errands, forgave the attendant, stating that he did not wish to escalate the matter and endanger the attendant’s job.

The relieved attendant thanked Sonko, mentioning that he had only dispensed KSh 420 worth of diesel before realizing the error.
Subsequently, several individuals were seen pushing Sonko’s high-end black Nissan Patrol backward to a location where the incorrect fuel could be drained.
