It was all joy and celebration in Nakuru County yesterday as hundreds of youths held a party to celebrate President Ruto’s decision to fire Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen.
A video has emerged showing a group of Gen Zs chatting happily before breaking into song and cutting a cake to mark the end of Murkomen’s tenure.
The cake, placed on a stool in the street, was surrounded by the youth, who cut it with what looked like a machete.

A closer look at the cake revealed it was beautifully decorated in orange, black, and blue, with the message “YK-27 Welcome Home Former CS Murkomen.”
Residents who joined the youth in cutting the cake jubilated each time the knife went down, expressing their frustration with having CSs they deemed unqualified and corrupt.
A Gen Z spokesperson told the press they were thrilled Murkomen had been fired and sarcastically suggested he could now advertise Rolex watches bought with taxpayers’ money.
