The tragic final hours of Sarah Njogu, better known as socialite and video vixen Sarah Gwan, began with a frantic escape by her mother, Mary Wanjiru.
Around 2 am on June 25, Wanjiru received a distressing call informing her that Sarah had been admitted to St. Francis Hospital, Kasarani, following a severe fall.
Locked inside her apartment with the padlock keys gone, Wanjiru squeezed through a spare window, alarming the entire apartment complex with her screams.
Sarah Gwan had fallen from a second-floor balcony in Seasons, Kasarani, after an incident involving her three friends. Upon arriving at the hospital, Wanjiru found her daughter in a dire state, with blood oozing from her ears and a severe head injury.
Despite being placed on life-saving machines, Sarah needed to be urgently transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital.

The friends were later released on bail, causing further anguish for the family, who believed they had a role in Sarah’s fall.
The family struggled to gather the Ksh.150,000 deposit required by St. Francis Hospital, prompting Sarah’s transfer to Kenyatta National Hospital.
Despite their efforts, Sarah succumbed to her injuries four days later.
The family vehemently disputed claims that Sarah had intentionally jumped, describing her as a strong-willed and determined individual who would never take her own life.
Sarah’s sister, Purity Njogu, echoed these sentiments, stating, “Sarah was not suicidal. She had faced numerous challenges but always persevered.
