Senior Economic Advisor Moses Kuria found himself at the receiving end of public discontent during a lively music event at SNL Lounge in Githurai 44 on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
The event, intended to celebrate the launch of Mugithi artist Tony Young’s latest song, took a dramatic twist when Kuria, who was in attendance, was invited to address the crowd.
The atmosphere soured quickly as revellers erupted into a chorus of boos and chants of “Riggy G,” in what appeared to be a strong show of support for Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

The anti-government slogans that filled the air highlighted growing frustrations within certain quarters over the push to impeach Gachagua, a move that has sparked widespread controversy.

A video circulating online captures the tense moment when Kuria, donning a black hoodie, attempted to speak but was forced to cut his speech short after only a few minutes, visibly taken aback by the hostile reception.
Despite his high-ranking position within President William Ruto’s administration, Kuria’s presence at the entertainment venue was far from welcome, with revellers expressing their discontent towards the Kenya Kwanza government.

This incident follows a similar experience faced by Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika just a day earlier.
Kihika, a staunch ally of President Ruto, was also booed at a funeral in Bahati Constituency, where mourners drowned out her speech as she attempted to deliver the president’s condolence message.
