Shakur had expressed concerns about his safety to those around him, sending texts about receiving unsettling calls, being followed, and feeling his life was in danger. This fear, unfortunately, came true.
Family and friends ruled out the possibility that Shakur was in hiding, as he would have kept in touch for his safety. The missing person’s report was filed at Kiamumbi police station under OB number 29/06/24/06.
Shakur was reportedly abducted by police officers and held incommunicado until Monday.
