President Lazarus Chakwera, in a televised address, expressed deep sorrow and assured the nation that extensive efforts were made to locate the missing plane.
The crash site was pinpointed using telecommunication tower signals, with support from the United States, Britain, Norway, and Israel, who provided specialized search technologies.
