Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has announced plans to sell all his property and invest the proceeds in charity work.
He shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), explaining that he had decided to change his extravagant lifestyle.

Sonko cited the example of former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who sold all his wealth accumulated during his political tenure to support charitable causes.
Sonko’s announcement came just days after Oga Obinna reached out to him for assistance with the medical bills of former TV personality Kimani Mbugua, who has been experiencing severe mental health issues.
When asked, Sonko, who had already donated over KSh 10,000 to Dem Wa Facebook, expressed his willingness to help further.
He also mentioned that he would support fans facing real difficulties from Oga Obinna’s show with small contributions that day.
Yesterday, the former governor was seen in a convoy with Oga Obinna visiting the rehabilitation center where Kimani Mbugua is being treated.

Shortly after, Sonko, who revealed he has also suffered from bipolar disorder and understands the impact of such conditions, announced that he would cover all the rehabilitation expenses for the former TV personality, impressing many.
