Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a from the Neno Evangelism Center has stepped forward to address the recent surge in youth fatalities, asserting that these occurrences are far from ordinary.
During a sermon at his CBD chapel, Ng’ang’a challenged the notion that these deaths should be accepted as normal, urging people not to grow complacent.
Explaining his stance, Ng’ang’a argued that the current generation seems to be under a curse, as he couldn’t fathom why God would take the lives of young individuals, contrary to popular belief.

These statements come in the wake of the widely-discussed burial of 23-year-old TikToker Brian Chira, which caused a stir across the country as social media platforms buzzed with news of the event’s overwhelming attendance.
Ng’ang’a criticized the popular video-sharing app TikTok, attributing part of the blame for the rising deaths to its influence, which, he claimed, has driven some individuals to madness.
He observed that young people are engaging in lengthy and rowdy exchanges on the app, displaying behavior akin to madness or enchantment.
Ng’ang’a also highlighted the increasing number of youth fatalities, including those caused by recent floods in Nairobi, attributing them to the current generation’s involvement in various sins, including incestuous relationships and promiscuity with older individuals.
