In a heartbreaking incident in Kavuvwani B village, Kitui County, a 3-year-old child tragically passed away after reportedly ingesting remains of a green mamba snake.
The snake had been killed and burned by the child’s grandfather, Salim Mwendwa, within their home compound.
The child, under the care of grandmother Margret Nzangi Mwendwa, is said to have consumed the snake’s remnants, leading to the fatal outcome.

Authorities responded swiftly after Salim reported the incident at Mwingi Police station, and the child’s body has been transferred to Mwingi Level IV Hospital mortuary pending a postmortem examination.
