Roads transport and public works Cabinet Secretary Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen was treated to a splendid surprise on his 45th birthday, causing him to leap for joy.
The celebration took place in a posh-looking conference chamber, where fellow cabinet members, including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, cheered him to slice into a sumptuous rectangular cake.
In photos on his Facebook, a man bearing a cake, accompanied by another carrying a saxophone, emerged from the opulent conference room where Murkomen and his colleagues were gathered, surprising him as the saxophonist serenaded the occasion.

The cake, adorned with exquisite white blooms and intricate designs, featured a delicate inscription in elegant fonts saying “Happy Birthday OKM.”
Other cabinet members joined in the revelry, with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua assisting Murkomen in cutting the cake, indulging in slices, and offering their cheers.

In a Facebook post, the Minister, who recently survived a helicopter crash in Baringo, expressed gratitude to his colleagues for their thoughtfulness, singling out the Deputy President for orchestrating the surprise.
He emphasized the significance of such gestures in revitalizing one’s dedication to serving their country with excellence.
What a special team we serve in! Many thanks for the surprise birthday celebration hosted in my honour by H.E.
