- Kenyans flocked to social media to express their doubts about the DCI’s swift arrest of the Kware dumpsite serial killer
- Many pointed out that the evidence, such as the women’s underwear displayed by the DCI, appeared new, raising questions about its authenticity
- Others wondered how the DCI managed to arrest the suspect in a record two days when he had allegedly been committing murders and remained at large since 2022
Kenyans have expressed skepticism about the swift uncovering of the serial killer responsible for bodies dumped at a quarry in Mukuru, suggesting the entire operation seems staged.
This reaction came after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) announced that, just two days after discovering decomposing bodies in the quarry, they had arrested the prime suspect in Nairobi’s Kayole.
The suspect, 33-year-old Collins Jumaisi, was reportedly found with items believed to have been used in the murders of 42 women.

The DCI claimed that Jumaisi confessed to the killings, starting with his wife, whose remains he disposed of in 2022.
However, many Kenyans quickly questioned the findings, pointing out several discrepancies, particularly the rapid apprehension of the suspect.

They took to social media comment sections, expressing disbelief and accusing the DCI of scripting the arrest.
Some questioned how the DCI had failed to discover the bodies or the suspect since 2022, yet now claimed to have caught him in just two days.
Others highlighted inconsistencies with the evidence, such as the women’s underwear displayed by the DCI, which looked new, and the machete, which didn’t appear to have been used in the crimes.
