The Narok County Commissioner, Kipkech Lotiatia, has underscored the government’s determination to ensure the safety of residents amid the looming threat of floods and mudslides.
In a stern address delivered at Sarova Lodge in Maasai Mara, Lotiatia emphasized the imperative for individuals residing in flood-prone areas to heed evacuation directives promptly.

Lotiatia cautioned that if residents refuse to relocate to safer grounds, the authorities will not hesitate to employ coercive measures to ensure their safety.
Urging vigilance, he implored locals to take proactive steps to safeguard both lives and property in the face of imminent danger.

The County Commissioner also sounded an alarm for businesses and residents in Narok town, highlighting the heightened risk posed by overflowing dams in the Nkareta and Olopito areas of Narok North Sub County.
He stressed the urgency of preparedness and urged individuals to utilize the emergency Toll-Free line (0800722984) in case of any crisis.
