During a routine check of a Toyota Hiace matatu traveling from Isebania to Migori, officers discovered a hidden stash of suspected Bhang weighing 165 kilograms, valued at Ksh. 4.9 million.
Three suspects believed to be involved in drug trafficking were swiftly apprehended, signaling a decisive blow against the local narcotics trade.
Additionally, five individuals from Burundi were arrested as part of the operation, highlighting the international dimension of the illicit activities.
The National Police Service affirmed its dedication to enhancing community relations through initiatives such as community policing, emphasizing efforts to apprehend drug peddlers.

Three suspected drug peddlers were arrested alongside five aliens from Burundi. Huge Bhang Haul Seized Near Laikipia University, Security Officers Launch Investigation
Elsewhere, security officers in Nyahururu sub-County made a significant discovery, impounding bhang estimated to be worth Sh30 million in a thicket near Laikipia University in Losogwa village, Igwamiti ward, Nyahururu.
Acting on reports from vigilant members of the public, the police swiftly responded, leading to the seizure of 60 bags, each weighing 100 kilograms, filled with the illicit substance.

Nyahururu sub-County Deputy County Commissioner, Ann Mitema, confirmed the operation, stating that the security team is actively pursuing leads regarding the owners of the container.
