Isiolo County government officials are taking decisive action in the wake of a significant payroll data leak that has left employees and the public in turmoil.
County Secretary and Head of Public Service, Dadhe Boru, addressed the media on Tuesday, emphasizing the administration’s dedication to safeguarding employee privacy and addressing the breach head-on.
The leaked document, which surfaced last Friday, disclosed the names and gross monthly salaries of all county employees, raising alarms about data privacy violations under the Data Protection Act of 2019.
In response, Boru reassured workers that their confidentiality is a top priority and that thorough investigations are underway to trace the origins of the leak and hold responsible parties accountable.
“The protection of our staff’s privacy remains paramount,” Boru stated, urging calm as the investigation unfolds. He highlighted that the county is intensifying efforts not only to secure personal data but also to rectify the situation through legal avenues.

Deputy Governor James Lowasa also addressed the issue, urging the public to approach the leaked information with caution. “The document in question is not official, and we are still verifying its accuracy,” he said, noting the potential destabilizing impact of such leaks on families and communities.
