  • In 2021, gospel singer Goodluck Gozbert was gifted a luxurious Mercedes Benz C-Class by Tanzanian prophet Geor Davie, who declared it a divine blessing to elevate his career
  • However, Gozbert yesterday shocked many by setting the car ablaze, claiming both the gift and the food he ate during the event displeased God
  • He explained that accepting the offering had been a mistake, and burning the car was an act of obedience to God’s command

Tanzanian gospel singer Goodluck Gozbert has ignited a whirlwind of reactions after torching a brand-new Mercedes Benz C200 worth Ksh 6 million.

In a shocking video circulating online, the singer is seen driving the luxury car to an open field, dousing it in petrol, and setting it on fire.

He watches intently as the vehicle is reduced to ashes.

The sleek car was a gift Gozbert received in 2021 from his mentor, Tanzanian prophet Geor Davie.

However, in a surprising turn of events, Gozbert explained that the car—and even the food he ate during the gifting event—did not please God.

He revealed that accepting the car as an offering had been a mistake and, after deep reflection, he chose to burn it as an act of obedience to God’s command.

While acknowledging that the act might spark controversy, Gozbert urged people not to overanalyze his actions.

He stated that his decision was personal and rooted in his faith.

“I know some ministers of the gospel may condemn my actions, and I accept their judgments,” he said. “I won’t argue with them. I’m simply following God’s guidance.”

The Day Davie Gifted Gozbert the Mercedes Benz

In December 2021, Prophet Geor Davie’s ministry shared a video of an event where Gozbert was performing while Davie was preaching.

Goodluck when he was receiving the car gift fro Davie in 2021.

During the sermon, the prophet asked Gozbert what kind of car he had managed to buy from his music career.

Gozbert humbly replied that he owned a Toyota Harrier, a response that seemed to disappoint the pastor. Davie then questioned why the singer had not yet bought a Mercedes Benz.

In a dramatic moment, Davie announced that he would gift Gozbert a brand-new Mercedes Benz C-Class. Overwhelmed, Gozbert broke into tears as the congregation erupted in celebration.

Prophet Davie declared that the car was a divine blessing meant to elevate Gozbert’s career and transform his life.

“All your struggles will come to an end now that you’ve received this gift from a high servant of the Lord,” Davie proclaimed at the time.
