She opened up about the devastation she felt after losing her mother, a loss that contributed to her weight gain. “I lost my mother last year, some of you know this others don’t. Well, I watched my mom die last year,” she revealed, highlighting that medical negligence played a significant role in her mother’s death.
Chebet also spoke about her struggles with mental health following this loss. “Mental illness and depression aren’t foreign terms to me… March this year I got hospitalized and was there for about two weeks on meds and some mood stabilizers that have so many side effects,” she shared.
