Caroline Sabiri Manyange, a senior official at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), has been arrested for allegedly using forged academic certificates to secure her position.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) confirmed Manyange’s arrest at her Nairobi West home, following a probe that uncovered a forged Master of Arts (Population Studies) degree from the University of Nairobi.

The forgery, dating back to 2004, enabled her to rise through the ranks at IEBC, earning her over Ksh.37 million in cumulative salary and benefits.

EACC Spokesperson Eric Ngumbi revealed that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has approved charges of forgery and uttering a false document, and the commission will pursue civil proceedings to recover the misappropriated funds.

Manyange, who served as Manager for Boundaries Delimitation, is now in custody at EACC’s Integrity Centre Police Station and is set to appear before the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court later today.
