Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have captured Mary Akinyi Mulamula, a suspected child trafficker who had been evading authorities for months.
The DCI confirmed the arrest on Sunday, September 29, 2024, following a tense operation in Kabete, Nairobi.
Mulamula, who had stolen a child from her home in Muchingu, Kakamega County on June 6, 2024, had successfully led authorities on a wild chase—until now.

The suspect had lured the family’s shamba boy into believing she was taking the child to a sponsorship program in Kakamega, only to disappear with the victim.

After an exhaustive investigation, the DCI’s Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit, in collaboration with Kabete detectives, tracked her down.
Their efforts culminated in the rescue of not just one but two children.
