- Despite the removal from these platforms, the songs remain available on YouTube, suggesting they won’t be taken down from there
Nyashinski, one of Kenya’s most beloved musicians, has unexpectedly removed some of his biggest hits from major streaming platforms like Apple Music and Spotify.
Citizen Digital has reported that over 20 songs, including “Malaika,” “Mungu Pekee,” “Aminia,” “Properly” (featuring Femi One), “Marathon Runner,” “Serious,” “Kabla Tudie,” “Finyo,” “Kebs,” “Hapo Tu” (featuring Chris Kaiga), “Lift Me Up,” and many others, have been taken down.
These popular tracks, however, remain available on YouTube, suggesting that Nyashinski might not intend to remove them from that platform.

This move has left many fans puzzled and disappointed as they find themselves unable to access their favorite Nyashinski songs on their preferred streaming services.
A closer examination reveals a common factor among all the removed songs: they were produced by the celebrated producer, music composer, and performer Cedric Kadenyi, popularly known as Cedo.

Despite this, Cedo has not removed any of the songs he has featured Nyashinski on, indicating that the fallout appears to be one-sided.
So far, neither Nyashinski nor Cedo has provided any explanation for this unexpected development.
Nyashinski Reveals Journey from Truck Driver to Music Star and His Return to Kenya
In 2020, the singer came out to reveal that he had quit music to become a truck driver when he moved abroad in 2006.
Together with his family, the rapper, real name Nyamari Ongegu, relocated to Delaware, USA, despite being aware he was cutting short his music career. Speaking on his YouTube channel’s first episode, Nyashinski said life did not favor him while there.
“When we moved abroad, I had completely quit music. I was working back in the States as a truck driver,” he said. “I used to drive a lorry, trying to survive.”

The ‘Malaika’ hitmaker mentioned that he spent the first two years in Delaware before moving to Michigan. “That experience taught me a lot. Two things that were life-changing for me back then were, one, when I was here, I was a star,” he said.
“People recognized me everywhere, and we were doing what we loved. I moved from a place where I was known and getting a bit of favor here and there to a place where no one knows me.”
