CNN International correspondent Larry Madowo arrived in Kenya this morning after cutting short his vacation in Venice to cover today’s protests.
The journalist shared a photo of himself at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, standing next to a sign reading “Welcome to Magical Kenya.”
Larry has been on a tight schedule, having covered protests in Kenya on Thursday before heading to Venice, Italy for his vacation.

Just four days later, the journalist has returned to cover what is anticipated to be one of the largest protests in Kenya’s history, with thousands of people, primarily youth, expected to participate.
Close to 20 hours ago, Larry was still in the Corona city of Italy, snapping videos and photos in the city’s outskirts.

However, a few hours later, he shared an update from the Italy airport, expressing confusion and dismay over a 1.5-hour KLM flight delay, which jeopardized his Kenya Airways connection from Amsterdam to Nairobi.
In a subsequent update, Larry had boarded the KLM flight and arrived at Amsterdam airport, where he was seen running to catch his KQ flight on time.
He explained that Kenya Airways (KQ) had deliberately delayed the flight for him so he could reach Nairobi on time, praising the airline for its consideration and service.

This morning, Larry updated his fans, who eagerly await his coverage of the demonstrations, confirming his safe arrival in Nairobi.
However, he shared that the last-minute rush and delays resulted in KLM losing his bags, but he said he would deal with that after covering today’s protests.
