Amidst the chaos of the floods, Captain Sora, known for his altruism and unwavering dedication, piloted a KDF relief helicopter to remote villages in Tana River County, including Assa village.
Here, amidst the deluge, he encountered a pregnant woman in distress.
Without hesitation, Captain Sora orchestrated the safe airlift of the woman to a medical facility, ensuring the successful delivery of both mother and child.

After completing his education, Captain Sora joined the Kenya Air Force, where he underwent training at the prestigious Starlite Aviation Training Academy in Durban, South Africa.
Throughout his military career, he distinguished himself as a dedicated and compassionate officer, known for his willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty.
In November 2022, amidst the challenges posed by the Al-Shabaab-infested Boni forest, Captain Sora engaged with communities and supported them.

Tragically, on Thursday, Captain Mohamed Sora, along with five other military personnel, lost their lives in a helicopter crash while on duty at the Kaben-Cheptulel border between Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot counties.
