The boda boda rider who transported comedian Fred Omondi on the day of his fatal accident has recounted their last moments together.
In an interview with Kenya Online Media, the rider detailed his final interaction with Omondi, who had been leaving a club.

“I took him to Tunnel, and he requested a Bolt,” the rider said. “He mentioned he needed to go far and wanted to go fast, but my bike wasn’t fast enough. I left him at Tunnel, and he paid Ksh530 for his ride.”
Tragically, Fred Omondi, former comedian, was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident shortly thereafter.

According to police reports, the accident occurred around 6:00 AM near the Caltex petrol station on Kangundo Road.
A Mitsubishi minibus, driven by Stephen Maina from Kayole heading towards the CBD, collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.

Fredrick Odhiambo Omondi, a passenger on the motorcycle, died instantly. His sudden death has left his friends and family in deep mourning.
Fred’s brother, Eric, visited the hospital in disbelief, stating he initially thought Fred was still alive and criticized the authorities for what he perceived as misinformation about his brother’s condition.
