Benny Hinn, the renowned televangelist revered by followers worldwide, has made a staggering claim and asserted that God miraculously healed him from a life-long stuttering affliction.
The Pastor has long been recognized for his global evangelistic efforts, but behind the pulpit lies a remarkable personal journey marked by divine intervention.
Born on December 3, 1952, in Israel to Greek immigrant parents, Benny Hinn’s spiritual awakening occurred in February 1972 when he embraced Jesus Christ, setting the course for his life’s mission.
Despite initial hesitation, a compelling vision in April 1974 convinced him of his divine calling to preach the Gospel, a commitment he made on the condition of God’s constant presence.
On December 7, 1974, just days after his 22nd birthday, Hinn delivered his inaugural sermon, experiencing an unexpected miracle as his lifelong struggle with stuttering vanished, empowering him to boldly fulfill his calling.
In 1975, Hinn established the Benny Hinn Evangelical Association, dedicated to spreading the message of Jesus Christ worldwide.
Influenced by revered mentors such as Kathryn Kuhlman, Oral Roberts, and Lester Sumrall, Hinn’s ministry flourished, reaching countless souls globally.

Despite his success, Hinn acknowledged the need for balance between ministry demands and personal spiritual nourishment.
In a 2019 statement, he publicly retracted aspects of his teaching on the prosperity gospel, recognizing the danger of commercializing the Gospel message and renouncing the solicitation of large financial contributions.
Expressing regret for past teachings, Hinn declared, “I think it’s an offense to the Lord, it’s an offense to say give US$1,000. I think it’s an offense to the Holy Spirit to place a price on the Gospel. I’m done with it. I will never again ask you to give US$1,000 or whatever amount, because I think the Holy Ghost is just fed up with it.”
Now, as Hinn approaches five decades in ministry, he emphasizes the importance of mentoring younger believers and leaders, sharing the wisdom gleaned from his journey.
