The Standard Group has shut down KTN News, effective July 5. The decision to cease operations at the 24-hour news channel, which was launched in July 2015, follows the recent announcement of layoffs affecting 300 employees as part of a broader cost-cutting strategy. It was a sad Wednesday as three people, including a woman and an infant, lost their lives in a devastating bus crash in the Kayole area of Naivasha. The bus, which was transporting mourners to a burial in Tororo, Uganda, veered off course after the driver lost control, striking several vehicles before ending up in a ditch. The vehicle, carrying 63 passengers at the time, skidded off the road in a sloppy section. Four people lost their lives when a small single-engine Beechcraft F33A plane crashed at Sundance Airport on Tuesday afternoon. The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. as the aircraft was taking off from the small airport on the city’s outskirts.
