The Kirinyaga community is mourning the tragic loss of Samuel Kamau Kagwanja, a 41-year-old trader, whose body was finally recovered from the depths of Sagana River after a grueling nine-day search.
The ordeal began when Kamau’s vehicle careened into the river while he was en route to his home in Sagana.

Ndia sub-county police commander Moses Koskei confirmed the discovery of Kamau’s body, which was found over two kilometers downstream from the accident site.
Despite relentless efforts by local residents and divers, including assistance sought from the Kenya Defense Forces Disaster Response Battalion, the recovery mission faced significant challenges, exacerbated by strong water currents.
