Comedian-turned-philanthropist Eric Omondi successfully raised an impressive sum of KSh 237,000 within a span of three hours, swiftly responding to aid Kenyans bearing the brunt of the devastating Mathare Floods.
Eric selected ten individuals most severely impacted by the floods and generously provided them with various essentials, including shopping, monetary assistance, and housing support.
Mathare, one of Nairobi’s largest slums, witnessed torrential rains resulting in flash floods of immense magnitude, inundating homes and tragically claiming people’s lives.

Subsequently, they enter the homes Eric secured for them, proudly displaying bundles of cash gifted by the former comedian.
Eric emphasized that the funds were intended to facilitate the recipients in starting small businesses to sustain themselves while awaiting recovery.
He further disclosed covering three months’ rent for each individual, acknowledging their complete displacement due to the floods, with some tragically losing family members swept away by the deluge.
Eric was clad in a hoodie emblazoned with “Sisi kwa Sisi” (Us for Us), which is his own philanthropy organization, which he initiated to aid fellow Kenyans, whom he argued had been neglected by their government.
