Governor Wavinya Ndeti, alongside her Deputy Francis Mwangangi, spearheaded the rescue operation, ensuring the safe evacuation of the stranded individuals to higher ground.
The rescued citizens are currently receiving medical attention at Kabaa Health Centre, with plans for counseling to help them recover from the traumatic experience.

In light of the incident, Governor Ndeti urged residents living in flood-prone areas to adhere to government directives and relocate to safer locations.
The county government pledged to facilitate alternative accommodation for those affected until the floodwaters recede.
Furthermore, Governor Wavinya issued a timely warning to residents of Kyeleni, Vulya, and Matungulu areas, advising them to evacuate promptly to avoid potential flooding hazards following heavy rainfall.
