They are demanding pay rise and lack of sufficient medical equipments in Public hospitals among others.
Also they were protesting of the shooting of their Secretary General Davji Atellah by Police Officers during a similar demonstration in Nairobi last week.
According to them,the medics were pushing for the posting of medical interns by the government on Thursday last week when Atellah was stuck by a teargas canister that led to his death.
The Nairobi doctors reiterated their push to Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha to employ the interns, saying the delay in posting them has affected services in public hospitals nationwide.
“We need the Cabinate Secretary of Health Department to push the posting of Medics who are acting as inters,the work at the hospital is too much and we need help,”They Complained.
They have vowed no to report to work on monday if the CS won’t deliver their demand as requested.
