Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has announced the arrest of 6 suspects involved in a recent attack on County Enforcement Officers in South C.
Sakaja announced the arrests on Tuesday following a backlash over the incident reported on Sunday amid reports of a coverup scheme.
The inspectorate officers were inspecting a development on a parcel of land in Kileleshwa ward representative Robert Alai said belonged to the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA).
Sakaja identified the suspects in police custody as Mustafa Abdullahi, Ali Nodi Adan, Kevin Mukuru, Abdi Hassan, Salat Abdi, and Stanley Ojiri.
He however dismissed Alai’s rape claims as inaccurate and exaggerated.
“While the allegation of rape is exaggerated and inaccurate, we condemn the physical attacks on our officers and are monitoring their recovery. I have reached them and offered my support and encouragement,” he said.
Sakaja announced the closure of the construction site and the withdrawal of approval in favour of the project.
