Police arrested a 29-year-old man, John Kiama Wambua, early on the morning of January 21, 2025, after discovering human body parts stashed in a bag he was carrying.
The arrest occurred during a routine patrol near Kelly Towers.
Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed that the body parts belonged to his 19-year-old wife, Joy Fridah Munani.

He later led officers to his residence, where additional remains were discovered concealed under a bed.
Disturbing evidence, including a bloodstained kitchen knife and the victim’s clothing, was also recovered from the scene.
Blood stains on the house’s floor further corroborated the grim events.
The remains have been transferred to the City Mortuary for postmortem analysis as detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Starehe Division work to piece together the motive behind the heinous crime.
The suspect is currently in custody, with the case pending before court under reference CR 126/12/2025.
