Elias Mutugi Njeru, a well-known Nakuru pastor, has turned himself in to the police after allegedly stabbing his ex-lover, Florence Wanjiku Gichohi, 18 times in a brutal attack that has shaken the community.
The violent incident unfolded at their home in Rongai, Nakuru, after Florence made the life-altering decision to end their romantic relationship and business partnership.
Mutugi, in a fit of rage, attacked her following a disagreement about their joint business venture and a loan she had demanded be repaid.
Florence, who is now recovering in the hospital, has shared her heartbreaking story of survival, revealing the harrowing details of the assault.

“These are the reasons he attacked me,” she said from her hospital bed, still grappling with the trauma. Her injuries were severe—stab wounds to her head, hands, back, and legs, and her fingers were nearly severed in the vicious attack.

After a manhunt was launched, Mutugi, a father of two and leader of Jesus Compassion Ministry Church, finally surrendered to the police on Monday, November 25, 2024.
Accompanied by his lawyers, he turned himself in at Nakuru Police Station, where he was immediately arrested and transferred to Menengai Police Station.
