Their relationship, he explained, was never meant to be public, with both parties choosing to keep it under wraps. “I don’t know if people knew, but Gatwiri was my girlfriend once.
But that was a long time ago,” he said during the tribute, noting that although their romantic relationship ended, their bond remained strong.
“I’m married now, with children, but we continued to work together even after we broke up.”

After the breakup, we still worked together on content, and there was always support from both sides,” he said.

The memorial for Gatwiri, a beloved content creator who had cultivated a massive following with her relatable videos and candid online presence, has sparked an outpouring of tributes.
Fellow influencer Carol Sonnie also shared her heartfelt remembrance of Gatwiri, describing her as “selfless” and “kind-hearted.”
Sonnie recalled a particularly touching moment when she visited Gatwiri’s home, where she was greeted with warmth and generosity.
“She gave me a costume that was part of her brand when I didn’t have one. That’s the kind of person she was—always thinking of others,” Sonnie said.
