Francis Ng’ang’a has recounted the traumatic experience his wife, Lucy Wambui, faced after undergoing cosmetic surgery at the Body by Design clinic.
Ng’ang’a vividly described the distressing moment he found Lucy in excruciating pain, her condition rapidly deteriorating due to a perforated intestine—a serious complication that sent shockwaves through their family.
The ordeal began innocently enough when Lucy, a 45-year-old mother, decided to enhance her appearance through surgery.
After the procedure, she returned home, but rather than the expected recovery, she started exhibiting troubling symptoms.
Ng’ang’a recalled how they were reassured by the clinic’s staff that her discomfort was merely a part of the healing process, leading them to believe she would soon feel better.

However, as days passed, Lucy’s health took a drastic turn. Ng’ang’a became increasingly alarmed as she experienced severe complications, including painful abdominal swelling and leakage that led to an unbearable odor.
“I asked them why my wife was excreting and smelling so badly, and they told me it was all part of the healing process,” he explained, his voice heavy with anguish.

Despite the clinic’s reassurances, it became evident that Lucy was critically ill. It was only when her situation became dire that the clinic instructed her to go home, subsequently closing its doors without further explanation.
This abrupt closure left the family feeling betrayed and abandoned, as they were left to deal with the consequences of a surgery that had gone terribly wrong.
Desperate for help, Ng’ang’a reached out to the clinic, only to find it had ceased operations entirely. The reality of their situation set in as he struggled to comprehend how a place entrusted with his wife’s health could leave them in such turmoil.

The haunting images of his wife suffering, coupled with the shame and confusion over her condition, pushed Ng’ang’a to seek answers.
The severity of Lucy’s complications ultimately caught the attention of health authorities, prompting an investigation by the Ministry of Health into the clinic’s practices and safety standards.
This investigation aims to uncover potential negligence and ensure accountability in the wake of Lucy’s tragic ordeal.
