Tanzanian Bongo Flava sensation Harmonize, whose real name is Rajabu Abdukahali Ibrahim, has been hit with a hefty financial blow following a ruling by the Tanzanian High Court.
The court has ordered the popular musician to pay Tsh113 million (Ksh5.4 million) to CRDB Bank after he defaulted on a loan taken in 2019.
The loan, which amounted to Tsh300 million (Ksh14.2 million), was intended to finance the purchase of music equipment, the establishment of a production studio, and other related costs.

Despite initial repayments, Harmonize began defaulting on the loan, even after the bank had adjusted his repayment schedule to ease his financial burden.

In the Commercial Case No 151/2023, the High Court, presided over by Judge Cleophas K Morris, found Harmonize in default after he failed to respond to court summonses and did not submit his written defense statements.
As a result, the judge ruled in favor of CRDB Bank, ordering Harmonize to pay the outstanding amount along with interest and damages.
