This apology follows significant criticism from Gen Z and other citizens who accused some public servants of wasting public resources and living extravagantly.
Murkomen’s acknowledgment of these criticisms and his pledge to change marks a notable shift in his approach to public service.
Murkomen also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to President Ruto for the new appointment. “I thank President Ruto for this incredible opportunity to serve our great nation, Kenya,” he said.
He emphasized his readiness to serve diligently and with great accountability, should he be approved by the National Assembly.
“Subject to my approval by Parliament, I pledge to serve the people of Kenya diligently, with great humility and unwavering accountability,” Murkomen assured.
