Tears and sorrow marked the faces of Samuel Ngure’s family as their weeks-long search for their missing loved one ended in heartbreak at the Nairobi City Mortuary.
The body of Ngure, who disappeared on the 23rd of last month, was discovered dismembered, with his head and leg severed, revealing the horrific ordeal he must have endured.
Ngure, a graduate, was involved in an accident along Magadi Road, with his family only confirming his death on Friday after Citizen TV highlighted his plight.
“I’m so exhausted, but at least I’ve seen my son,” said Peterson Njeru, Ngure’s father, as he grappled with the devastating loss.

The tragic discovery unfolded after Citizen TV arrived at Lang’ata Police Station, where the death was recorded, and met Noah Wafula, who runs a tree nursery on Magadi Road.

Wafula showed the alleged accident site, and witnesses recounted the incident. Zakariah Njaramba, a boda boda rider, recalled Ngure being hit by a matatu on June 23rd.
“He (the matatu driver) hit him and tried to escape. We held him with stones, and he came back to carry him and take him to the hospital,” Njaramba said.

Ngure’s family has now transported his body from the City Mortuary to Uplands, Kiambu County.
“He is not an unidentified body. He is our son. We love him even in death,” said his father, Peterson Njeru, reflecting the deep anguish and enduring love of a family in mourning.
