Cabinet Secretaries dismissed by President William Ruto on Thursday have responded to the decision, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve the country.
Taking to social media, they thanked the President for his trust and reflected on their tenure.
Former Defence CS Aden Duale extended heartfelt gratitude to President Ruto for entrusting him with a critical ministry. “I am deeply honored and will forever be indebted to him and the people of Kenya for this opportunity to serve our great nation,” Duale wrote, also quoting the Quran: “But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners” (Quran 8:30).
Tourism CS Alfred Mutua noted the necessity of the decision, despite its difficulty.

Former Environment CS Soipan Tuya expressed her gratitude for the chance to lead the Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry docket for the past 21 months. “My heart is full of gratitude,” she stated.

Labour and Social Protection CS Florence Bore shared her appreciation for the President’s mentorship and trust. “It has been a great honor to serve God and country,” she added.
Former CS for Ministry of Co-operatives & Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Simon Chelugui also thanked the President, expressing sincere gratitude and appreciation for the trust placed in him.

In a televised address from State House Nairobi, President Ruto explained that the decision to dissolve his Cabinet followed consultations with Kenyans and a review of the Cabinet’s performance.
The offices of Deputy President Rigathi Gathagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, and Secretary to the Cabinet Mercy Njau were exempted from the Cabinet purge.
